What to wear for Yoga?

in Yoga

Yoga is intended to be a meditative and relaxing form of exercise. Yoga is best if done well under a good practitioner. But dressing well for yoga classes can mean a lot more intimating for beginners. Generally it is important to wear clothing that is comfortable and easy and breathable. Yogis should carry all the required things so that they feel comfortable throughout the yoga workshop. Following are some of the essentials that a Yogi should keep handy.

1)Choose your top: A good shirt to wear to yoga is one that is form-fitting without being tight or binding. Whatever shirt you chose, try practicing a range of motion in it before you leave the house. This will ensure you can move freely and that you’re not exposing more of your body than you are comfortable with during a certain pose.

2)Footwear: Yoga is practiced barefoot. So wearing footwear is not needed. But if you want to still wear one you can try using a pair of yoga socks with individual toes that prevent slipping.

3)Pick a pair of Yoga pants: Yoga pants are easy to find at most stores that carry workout clothes. They come in many different colors so you can pick whatever suits your personality. Try some lunges or stretches in the dressing room to make sure you have a full range of motion. You can also wear them for other fitness activities, like running or biking.

4)Pick up a suitable mat: Though yoga mats are a bit pricey, it is best to pick up a best one so that you have better grip.

5)Carry a towel: Yoga classes can get sweaty if the room is heated. Carrying your own towel can help you from using others, hence no worry of transferring germs.

6)Carry a bottle of water: Carrying a bottle of water can help you to remain hydrated. Yoga practices make you sweat so remaining hydrated is necessary to avoid giddiness.

7)Carry some snack: Remember not to eat anything before a yoga session. Yoga is bet if done on an empty stomach eating to a full can make you feel uncomfortable hence resulting in puking out all the stuff. If you really feel hungry then instructors recommend a mall snack of biscuits or an apple or some nuts. Drinking a lot of liquid can also make you feel uncomfortable. Hence take some sips of water if you really feel thirsty.

8)Last but not the least AN OPEN MIND: This is the most needed for any successful yoga. Keep all your worries away. Yoga is for relaxing and not for building up tensions.

Always remember COMFORT IS THE KEY NOT YOUR LOOKS. Even simple yoga poses often feel challenging as they work muscles we’re not accustomed to using in our day-to-day lives. Comfortable clothing won’t get in the way of a deep and rewarding stretch. Don’t worry about whether your look is fashionable enough or not. Yoga is supposed to be about personal relaxation, not competition for the best look. Always try out some practice movements before you leave home. That way, you’ll know for sure you can move freely in the yoga workshop.
